  • 1: What should I bring with me?

  • 2: What about money? Can I pay with credit card in Ukraine?
You can bring with you either euros or dollars. Other currencies might not be easy to exchange.You can pay with credit card, but mainly large cities, and not in every shop/restaurant. There are plenty of ATMs, however,both in capital and the countryside. Read more about payments in Ukraine here.

  • 3: Who will accompany our group?
As per your preference, you can have a guide accompanying your group at all times.All our guides are local and have extensive knowledge of adventure activities and/or places of interest in Ukraine.

  • 4: Do I need to apply for a visa? Do I need particular vaccinations?
Please, check our detailed information on visa requirements at Ukraine section.In case you are required to obtain visa prior to arrival, please, contact nearestUkrainian embassy to inquire about the details of the process. Immigration cards must be filled out upon arrival and presented at customs upon departure.

While no vaccinations are required for entry into Ukraine, all travelers should be up-to-date on their immunizations.Hepatitis-A shots should be considered, as well as those for diptheria and typhoid fever. Tick-borne encephalitis isalso a risk in woody or overgrown areas.

  • 5: Is travel insurance required?
Yes. Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance.This should include cover for all forms of medical treatment. Prior to arrival you will be asked to present us with the evidence of insurance, as well as provide us with insurance company’s 24 hours emergency number.

  • 6: What type of accommodation should I expect?
Ukraine has a variety of accommodation available for travelers. It ranges from high class hotels, to hostels and rural farmsteads. Accommodation provided in our tours differs depending on the type of adventure activity, as well as the overall route of the tour. You can read general summary about accommodation in Ukraine section.

In order to accommodate diverse needs and preferences of our clients, we offer three types of accommodation: luxury, comfort and budget. If you choose to travel with luxury, you can expect 4-5* hotels, or quality apartments that offer the corresponding level of service. Please, note however, that due to the nature of our trips, as well as level of tourism services in Ukraine, your choice of tours will be limited to major cities and day trips.

If you prefer moderate level of adventure activities and would prefer tours that go off the beaten track, you can opt for comfort type of accommodation. It usually ranges between 3* hotels, quality apartments, and rural farmsteads. Some of the tours will have two-day hiking trips, which may include overnight camping.

Thrill seekers, and travelers who go for extreme level of adventure activities, should expect basic level of accommodation for majority of the days. Most extreme hiking day trips include multi-day overnight camping. Some multi-day cycling trips also have basic rural houses as the main accommodation.

  • 7: When is the best time to visit Ukraine?
Late March till beginning of November are the best months for your vacation to Ukraine. Remember that Crimean Peninsula has Mediterranean climate, with warmer weather than other regions. Winter months are good winter sports, as skiing, cross-country skiing or extreme hiking.

  • 8: What is the maximum number of people in your group trips?
We minimize the number of people in our groups trips as much as it is feasible, in order to limit our ecological and cultural footprint. Most reserves, where we operate our trips, also have limits for group size, not to disturb the fragile environment. We allow for maximum of 10 people per group.

  • 9: How far in advance do I need to book my trip?
We advise you to book your trip as soon as possible, especially if you prefer to join a group tour. Also, if you plan to include Crimea in your itinerary, note, that summer is very high season for the region, and most hotels require booking in advance.

  • 10: Is it possible to extend my trip?
Yes, it is possible. We have put together a number of day trips in all major regions of Ukraine, which you can easily add to your itinerary.

  • 11: Can you help me find flights to Ukraine?
We do not arrange flights to Ukraine. However, we can recommend our partners, who could assist you in that matter. All our trips are priced excluding the flight ticket.

  • 12: What if I need a special diet?
While Ukraine might not be your vegetarian heaven, most hotels do provide vegetarian options. Meals in rural farmsteads represent traditional Ukrainian kitchen, however, they have bigger flexibility in meals preparation.

In case you have other diet preferences, aside from vegetarian, please, inform us during booking, so we can communicate it to our partners, and adjust your meal plans accordingly.

  • 13: Will I have access to Internet?
Most hotels will have Internet connection available. In towns and cities you can always find Internet cafes, should you require access online. You can use your Mobile for Internet, as the country has very good mobile coverage. Please, note however, that in the mountainous areas of Carpathian, or less inhabited North region, you might not be able to get online often.

  • 14: Do I really need to bring everything from the ‘To bring’ list?
Of course, that is why we made a list! As we’ll be providing you with your adventure gear, So you will only need to bring the required clothing and medical supplies, if needed. In case you leave something out, we will try to substitute it for you in Ukraine, however, we might not always be able to do so; therefore, you might need to buy it.

  • 15: What types of plugs and voltages do you use in Ukraine?
Electricity in Ukraine is 220 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second. If you travel to Ukraine with a device that does not accept 230 Volts at 50 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter. Outlets in Ukraine generally accept plugs, types C and F. Adapters are available in most cities and towns, but don’t expect to buy them when off-the-beaten track. To be on the safe side, bring your own adapters.
