In this course Mrs Hanna will walk you through the process of decorating the pysanka - Ukrainian Easter eggs, painted with traditional wax technique. Course includes a series of videos, that give detailed information on
- how to use the materials properly,
- how to work with kistka,
- how to prepare the dyes, the egg, and the sequence of coloring
- what traditional Kosmach designs include and mean
- how to finish the decorated egg for a nice polished look
Materials for the course
clean fresh egg, candle, bee wax, one or two kistkas, dyes (dark brown, red, orange, yellow), paper towels.
Meet the artisan
Mrs Hanna Lyndiuk is one of the best artisans in the village, and yearly decorates more than 500 Easter eggs. She prefers to follow traditional techniques and uses colors, particular to Kosmach village.
Kosmach itself is well-known all over Ukraine for its unique Easter egg designs.
